Coco Palm Cottage is located on the north of our property near the main, common, beach patio. This cottage features an open concept floorplan, a king bed, a small bathroom and a wonderful kitchen with countertop seating. The beachfront patio is spacious and comfortable.

*This cottage has an adjoining door to our Coco Bean Cottage, so when rented together they form a large villa that sleeps 4 people.

Coral Cottage
A “coral” is a marine invertebrate found in the ocean (and can be seen when you snorkel at our cottages).

Cottage Theme: Sea Coral
Coral Cottage is located between our Coco Palm and Carmen Cottages. This older cottage was the first cottage built in the late 1940s and former home of our grandparents, Gen and Ben Benedict. Coral Cottage is one of our only one-bedroom cottages. This cottage features a bedroom with king bed at the back of the cottage and a small bathroom. The front of the cottage, closest to the beach, features a spacious kitchen with countertop seating, a pull out sofa bed and a living area.. The beachfront porch is spacious and comfortable.

Chocolate Cottage

Cottage Theme: The Tropics
Chocolate Cottage is located between our Cruzan and Calabash Cottages. Chocolate Cottage has festive, tropical decor and artwork. It features a sunken bedroom with a king bed, a small kitchen, a dining area and a private bathroom. It also has a waterfront patio with great views of the beach and the Caribbean sea. This cozy and quiet cottage does not have a lot of windows, like other cottages, so does not have breezes and is recommended for A/C only.

Calabash Cottage
A “calabash” is a fruit that is grown in the West Indies.

Calabash Cottage is located in the center of our property behind our Carnival Cottage and next to Chocolate Cottage. It has a secluded and quiet waterfront patio. Behind the patio lies a cottage with an open concept floorplan, a built-in dining booth, a galley kitchen, a king bed and a twin bed. At the rear of this older cottage is a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Caravelle Cottage
A “Caravelle” is a small sailing ship with 2 or 4 masts used in the 1400 and 1500s.

Cottage Theme: Florals and Nature
Caravelle Cottage is located directly behind our Compass Rose and Crow’s Nest cottages and features an open concept floor plan with a king bed, two built-in twin beds, a kitchen and a dining area. This older cottage has its original red brick floors, a spacious bathroom, a patio, and a colorful view of the sand and the sea from the cottage interior. Caravelle Cottage has an adjoining door to our Seaglass Cottage making it a perfect cottage for large families.

Carmen Cottage
This room is named in honor of our housekeeper, “Carmen” who worked at Cottages by the Sea for 24 years and retired in 2025. She was a character and we love that we can honor her legacy.

Carmen Cottage (previously Sylvia) is located in between our Coral and Caribe Cottages and has an adjoining door to Caribe Cottage. It is a smaller cottage without a full kitchen, but has a refrigerator and other small appliances. It has a small bathroom and a queen bed. It is decorated with bright colors and has a small covered patio.

Martha’s Treat Cottage
“Martha’s Treat” is named in honor of our great Aunt Martha Treat Merwin Shultz who previously owned the land and buildings on the south side of our property.

Cottage Theme: A New England beach summer
Martha’s Treat is a small, newly refreshed cottage located on the south side of our property near our Gazebo. This cottage features a galley kitchen, a private bathroom, a queen bed, and a shady outdoor porch with a decent view of the Caribbean Sea.

Turtle Camp Cottage

Cottage Theme: Turtles
This older, small, funky, beachfront cottage, located separately from our other cottages (yet adjoins with our Martha’s Treat Cottage) used to be occupied yearly by a group of turtle researchers who work at Sandy Point in the evenings. This is where the name “Turtle Camp” originated. This rustic “beach shack” has a private bathroom and can sleep up to 3 people with a king bed in the main room and a twin bed near the bathroom. The kitchen is outside and there is a large, private porch with a quaint view of the Caribbean Sea.
